Any of you who know me in real life or who have gamed with me MAY know that I used to be reallllly into a game called Ragnarok Online (RO). It’s still around, but it’s so outdated that it’s really hard to even look at it when you have..well you know…3D GAMES around. RO was a 2D sprite game, and it was fun as hell for a couple years, but then the appeal just started to wear off. Anywho, something like a couple of years ago Gravity who made RO, announced RO 2. I was actually able to get into the open beta for the Korean version, or maybe it was the Japanese….but I played it. It wasn’t all that great. It was a step in the right direction, but wreaked of too many cutesy mmos like Flyff, or Cloud Nine, that have cute factor with no depthful fun gameplay.

Don’t get me wrong, RO was SUPER CUTESY. But, it was still serious. You customized your characters, painstakingly pieced your gear together with the best cards. The combinations were endless and it gave the game the customization that a lot don’t have to this day.
Anyway, Gravity ended up putting RO2 on the back burner as they intended to charge for it, and didn’t feel it would do well in the current market. They were probably right, but I would have preferred that they just fixed up the game and gave it a shot.

All this time later, it seems that they are finally getting the ball rolling again. This info is coming from mmosite which for the most part I feel to be iffy as most of it is focused on games in betas in other countries! Like I guess it’s in beta right now in Korea and Japan? I dunno, I would love to see it come out here in the USA though.
